Description

The goal of this challenge is to design and develop a tool that allows users to optimize their available time by suggesting personalized cross-country skiing opportunities. The tool should allow users to enter the time they have available and in return suggest customized recommendations for cross-country skiing trails that fit within that time frame. To ensure practicality and accuracy, the tool must take into account essential factors such as travel time (calculated using public transport and walking route), the status of the trail and the duration of the selected activities. This requires a seamless integration of data from different sources to make meaningful and actionable suggestions. The ultimate goal is to create a solution that not only respects users’ schedules, but also enhances their experience by making the most of the moments available, be it for leisure, learning or personal growth.

Main Tasks

  • Development of a standardized data model to combine the three main data sources (Open Journey Planner, SISAG API, Openstreet Map)
  • Creation of a user-friendly interface for the tool
  • Visualization of the results of the tool attractively
All attendees, sponsors, partners, volunteers and staff at our hackathon are required to agree with the Hack Code of Conduct. Organisers will enforce this code throughout the event. We expect cooperation from all participants to ensure a safe environment for everybody.
